Trading Stocks with the Stock Picker RT software

Hi Toolbox Fans,

People ask me all the time how to trade the picks in the Stock Picker RT software.

Take a look at this… I want to show you a trick we like.

Many times … in fact just about every day we see stocks that “gap up” right at the open and then pull back between 9:30 and 9:45am. Then they make the turn and head higher… These are the ones you want.

Here are the actual settings I use in the software…

Stocks under 20 bucks with volume over 50,000 shares a day and under 500,000 shares a day on level 4.

Sometimes if I am getting too many picks (will raise the minimum average daily volume to 100-500k or maybe even 200-500k… This will sometimes shrink the list down a bit.

I call it the Newberry Criteria because it is the settings I use when I run the scan looking for winning stock picks.

Here are all three picks from today that met the “Newberry Criteria” in the SPRT software.

This stock did not make the turn until just after 10:00am. But what a move.

This stock made the turn just before 10:00 am and still a pretty big gainer.

This stock shows a radical swing right at the open and made the turn shortly there after.

We see this kind of trade set up all the time and it has been consistent since we developed this software back in 2005.

There were only 3 picks today using these settings and I don’t want you to think that every pick is a winner every day… but it sure helps to have this kind of tool at your disposal.

The SPRT software is not for everyone.

If you know how to properly enter and exit a trade then these picks can help you a great deal.

Look… In markets like this… we traders have to stick together and share what works. Experienced traders can do great with the SPRT software.. but don’t jump in with both feet unless you know what you are doing.

These markets have been absolutely crazy lately.. we see HUGE moves late in the day just after 2:30pm. As you can see from the charts I am writing this about this post at about noon and no one knows what will happen later in the day.

So… just so we’re clear… just because you have a winner at noon does NOT mean that you can take your eye off the ball, especially in these crazy markets.

I live in Hawaii, do I have to get up at 3 or 4 am to use this software?

Well, This software is best used during the trading day from the open.

I suppose one could use it as a place to find stocks to put on your watchlist, but it is best used right from the open, thanks for asking.

I have the SPRT, it is awesome. My question is, do we use the Research Lab Picks the same way we use the SPRT picks (few minutes after the opening bell)?
