Hi Everyone,
You hear a lot of talk about whether or not Wall Street wants a Democrat or a Republican to win the White House. I am not so sure it matter very much either way. In fact I think this year we have a good chance to see a “shake up” from the politics as usual.
This year we have seen the Ron Paul Revolution set some fundraising records which show a pretty good level of distaste for the big government days we have seen for the past few decades.
This year we have a Republican nominee that is at the very least a guy that most conservatives will vote for while holding their noses as he is not really what they had in mind this time around.
The Democratic party is surely spilt right down the middle and there will no doubt be some hurt feelings when it is all over.
Entering from outside the scope of major media coverage is the Libertarian Party ticket of Bob Barr and Wayne Allen Root. These guys I think are planning a coup on “politics as usual”.
In early polling the Barr/Root ticket is already getting 6% of the national vote and when they get up to 10% then they should be included in the League of Women Voters national debates.
Then… This gets interesting.
You see the Libertarian Party stands for balanced budgets and less government. That is a message that will surely take hold as the national debt keeps piling onto the backs of the US taxpayer.
Seriously, How much can a few million working people stand?
The younger generations of Americans are going to have to pick up the tab for such failed policies as …
Social Security, Medicare, Prescription Drugs and not to mention the world-wide empire that is the US military.
How in the world are we going to pay for all that once the boomers start retiring and living off their saving and ours?
This year, with the Ron Paul Revolution taking on such speed, the Republicans and Democrats fracturing their own parties and the Libertarians saying “vote the bums out”.
I think I smell an upset.
